Loop Head Together (LT) is a network initiated in 2020 to support the vitality of the economy, communities and environment of the Loop Head Peninsula. It reports into over 40 local community-based organisations that unite the 10 electoral districts of the three westernmost parishes of County Clare: Kilballyowen, Carrigaholt and Kilkee.
This is a pilot project to demonstrate the creation of a multi-stakeholder forum where issues important to a community are resolved. LT’s aim is to stop the peninsula’s population fall of 1% per year, and then start an increase to get the population back up to 5000 by 2040; thereby ensuring the community vibrancy, schools staying open, a basis for local suppliers, shops, restaurants, services, etc. All types of projects can then be looked at within this context.
